The Oakville Branch of the Ladies Auxiliary had its first meeting on April 22, 1942. There were only 22 members in our group at that time. Our association and link with the Royal Canadian Legion, Oakville Branch 114, have continued all these years.

Membership in the Ladies Auxiliary is open to all females aged 19 and over. Applications are available at the Branch – please enquire with the Steward on duty.

We promote comradeship and the making of new friendships. Meetings are held monthly, and special events and sports activities keep our members busy and involved. Our aims and goals are to volunteer our services and to assist and support the Branch. Some of the ways that this is done include assisting in the Poppy Campaign and Remembrance Day Services, as well as providing luncheons and preparing food for special branch events. We assist the branch with preparations and service for the Annual Veterans Dinner, fundraisers, Bazaars, holiday and special sporting day celebrations.

All proceeds from our fundraising activities are donated to Charities and local aid/assistance organizations in the Oakville area.

There is plenty of fun and camaraderie to be had throughout the year, as all Auxiliary members are encouraged to participate in our Sports Programs: Euchre, Cribbage, and Darts. These events are played against other Auxiliary branches from within our Zone B7 area and are for fun, good sportsmanship and competition. There are tournament events that qualify you (and/or your team) to compete at the Zone and District levels. For very good players/teams, there is a chance of advancing to Provincial competitions. We also hold a “Fun Sports Day” each year, hosted by one of the Auxiliary groups within Zone B7.
